What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Might be worth reaching out to them to see if they would be will to make them.

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Those are great, but probably won’t fix your overheating issues. I’d recommend their thermostat as well.

Land Rover Experience Centers add Defenders

I hate modern JLR products, but can’t say enough good things about their experience centers. I’ve been to the one at Solihull and the one in Edinburgh. Really fun for anyone, even if they’re not interested in off roading.

    Building the perfect 90

We’ve definitely been burned before by not checking panel alignment before paint.

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Ron Davis radiators include instructions on how to check for electrolysis in the cooling system

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I spoke to Ron and decided that I’ll send him a radiator to copy. This will have the factory oil cooler and an electric fan. Once it’s done I’ll share the part number for anyone interested

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I really need to send a radiator/intercooler setup from a Tdi to Ron Davis to see what they can build

These are a few of my favorite things.

I only use Norma hose clamps, which are the OEM for Land Rover. They're available in stainless steel too, if you're into that sort of thing (I'm not).

Seeking knowledge regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the TD5 vs 300TDI engines.

TD5 is awesome. Its quiet and has modern car power, where the 300 Tdi is loud and generally underpowered. The key advantage of the 300 Tdi is that it is such a simple motor, but that doesn't mean they're immune to problems. The TD5 is drive by wire, so while having modern car power, its also...

    Maer Chassis Order

Richards quality is comically bad. I think we have a vehicle in the shop with a Maer chassis. It’s constructed similarly to a Richards chassis. I didn’t install this one, so can’t say if it requires extensive modifications like a Richards chassis does. It definitely looks light duty compared to...

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

I’m going to have Ron Davis build me one at some point. I’ve installed at least a dozen of them in LS and RV8 builds without any issues.

Looks good. Darker than I was expecting

    1997 NAS 90 vs. 1993 NAS 110

That is the opposite of my experience wheeling my D90 and 110 on the west coast where there are a ton of off camber hills.

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

Not in my experience. I’ve seen lack of vacuum, leaks, and noise. The last one I had fail basically came apart internally and was causing a knocking noise.

What have you done to your DEFENDER today?

You are in for a sad surprise because as far as I know there is only one manufacturer for those vacuum pumps and the failure rate is high.

    LHD Puma Bulkhead and Dash

I have a puma main harness that has a bunch of corrosion in the connectors. It could probably be cleaned up, but I didn’t want to invest the time into it.

    1997 NAS 90 vs. 1993 NAS 110

When we lived in LA, I thought it was the perfect environment to DD and Defender. I rarely used my ac and only used the heat in the mornings. Southern California is the perfect place to drive a classic car every day.

    1997 NAS 90 vs. 1993 NAS 110

In my opinion, the D90 wheelbase makes it quite unstable on even moderate trails on the west coast. I never felt that way about mine on the east coast. It’s hard to describe, but a D90 just hits a point very easily where it wants to lift the front rather than move forward. Here’s an example of...

    1997 NAS 90 vs. 1993 NAS 110

The biggest issue with Defender HVAC systems is that there are usually a bunch of air leaks allowing outside air inside the cabin while driving
